About Me
I grew up in a family of creative introverts, and it was my Dad who introduced me to photography. His best friend was a race photographer, and I bought my first camera from him. While in college, I basically lived in the photo department's darkroom. (That said, I certainly enjoy the modern conveniences of my digital cameras!) It was during that time that I really grew to love documenting people's lives through photographs. Also during that time, I met, and later married, the love of my life. He became a military man, and we spent a few years bouncing around the country. Since then we've put down roots in Washington State, and I love it here!
What is Lifestyle Photography, & why hire a lifestyle photographer?
Lifestyle photography helps tell the story of who you are. It's natural, candid, and allows you to enjoy making real memories, doing what you like, with people you love. Like photojournalism, these photos are not posed, although we can always snap a few poses for Grandma. ;) These are meant to be a genuine reflection of your life. However, unlike pure photojournalism where the photographer never makes any suggestions, I may make a few for artistic purposes. (Such as turning a light on, or off, adjusting some hair, asking someone to jump on the bed again, etc.)
So many times, families have "missing" members who never show up in photos, --usually because they're the one behind the camera! Or, when they are in photos they're half blurry selfies. Hiring a professional lifestyle photographer frees you up to live in the moment, and bless you family and friends with your full attention. It also ensures that your loved ones will be able to have beautiful memories of you as well.

Slice of Life
Slice of Life sessions are booked by the hour, and meant to document a little peek into your life.
These sessions take place either in your home, or on location. You're welcome to do life like you usually would, or to do a special activity. If you opt to do a special activity, choose one you’d be interested in doing, even if a camera wasn’t around. This helps everyone to be comfortable and have fun while also making sure the session will be a genuine representation of you and your family for years to come.

Day In the Life
Day in the Life sessions capture what an entire day with you looks like. Whether muddy cloths or pressed pants, staying at home, or running errands, -- whatever your day looks like, I’m here to help preserve your story. Often the most honest moments tend to reveal themselves between the hustle and bustle. I love getting to preserve sweet sideways glances, and I’m not embarrassed of capturing temper-tantrums.
My goal is to start documenting when feet hit the floor in the morning. I respect that some people are not morning people, --trust me, there are ways for me to capture some of your morning routine without being in your face. I can range from fly on the wall, to being like one of the family. It all depends on how much interaction you’re comfortable with. I will be shooting A LOT, and we’ll also be chatting, laughing, and if there are kiddos, I’ll probably end up playing games with them. I’m along for the ride. Our session will typically wrap up a little after bed time. This allows me to document your entire day from start to finish.

Birth
There are few moments so pivotal as a new life entering the world. Perhaps you’ve been anticipating the arrival of your little one(s) for months, or maybe it’s been years. Maybe this is your first child, or maybe this will be your seventh. Whatever your story, the arrival of a child is a miracle worth celebrating again and again.
Photographs are an excellent way for you to share your birth story with family and friends who could not attend, or to relive the moments with those who could. And even though it might seem like an eternity away, your little ones will grow up unbelievably fast. Soon they may have a spouse of their own, and these are precious memories to share with your future in-laws, and grandchildren. I would be honored to help preserve memories during your little one’s very first birthday so you can be fully invested in the moment.
